WEST HAM have agreed a transfer for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, SunSport can reveal.
The two clubs finally met at a £30.5million up-front payment - with further add-ons.
West Ham have agreed a deal to sign Italy striker Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo
The Italian club were originally hoping to get at least £43m for the player dubbed the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
However, they eventually accepted a lower fee for the 6ft 6ins giant.
Personal terms have not yet been agreed but should be a formality with the Hammers desperate to add firepower.
David Moyes has been chasing a striker all summer to provide competition for Michail Antonio.
Chelsea's Armando Broja is also on the Scot's wishlist, and could still arrive before the window closes, but Scamacca was always the primary target.
Scamacca, 23, came through the ranks at Lazio, Roma and PSV before joining Sassuolo in 2017, going out on loan four times.
He scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A games last season which led to interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
The seven-cap Italian is in the perfect mould of a Moyes striker – physical, quick feet and able to hold the ball off to put in players around him.
SunSport has also exclusively revealed that the Hammers have made a move for Eintracht Frankfurt main man Filip Kostic.
West Ham are looking for cover at left-back and another target David Raum appears to be closing in on a move to RB Leipzig.
