The Rooneys’ united front during the Wagatha Christie trial proves their `strong’ marriage can survive his move to the US, according to WAG pal Danielle Lloyd.

Manchester United and England legend Wayne, 36, has jetted off to the States to become manager of Washington-based Major League Soccer club DC United.

Wife Coleen, 36, plans to stay in Britain with their four sons.

In the past Wayne’s antics while they have been apart have put a strain on their marriage.

Coleen admitted in the High Court she secretly split from him in 2017 when he was caught drink-driving at 2am in a party girl’s motor while she was away on holiday.

But friend Danielle, 38, said the couple’s support for one another during Coleen’s libel battle against fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy in May showed their relationship is now strong enough to survive a transatlantic separation.

The model, whose ex-husband Jamie O’Hara, 35, played for Spurs, Wolves and Fulham, said while the job was a `great opportunity’ for Wayne it was a `mad situation’ and `will be hard on Coleen’ who will `really miss him’.

But she could see why her pal - who has said she hated it when they moved to America when Wayne played for DC United - wants to stay at home.

Danielle told Closer magazine: “Hopefully Wayne is going to be so busy that there won’t be any more drama with him.

"It seems they’ve turned it all around.”

Coleen is still waiting to hear the outcome of the case.

Mum-of-five Rebekah, 40, sued her for libel as Rebeckah claimed Ronney publicly outing her as a `grass’ as she claimed Vardy had leaked information from her private Instagram account to a "downmarket" newspaper.

In a trap straight from a whodunnit Coleen posted fake stories on her account and claimed she blocked all followers except Rebekah from seeing them.

Coleen revealed the source of the leak on social media, announcing: “It’s...Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

The sting earned her the nickname `Wagatha Christie’ after famous Brit crime writer Agatha.
