Arsenal are on the verge of signing Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko with the Ukraine international flying out to Florida to undergo a medical, having already agreed personal terms.

The Gunners have agreed a £32million deal for the versatile 25-year-old, according to The Athletic, which will take their summer spending above the £100million mark following the signings of Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Matt Turner.

Zinchenko knows Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta well having worked with the him when he was Pep Guardiola's assistant at City and it's understood the Spaniard played a big part in getting the deal over the line.

Although he tends to operate in midfield for his country, Zinchenko has mainly been used by Guardiola at left-back - a position Arteta has been keen to strengthen given Kieran Tierney's injury record.

City meanwhile are expected to make a move for Brighton's Marc Cucurella as Zinchenko's replacement. The 23-year-old enjoyed a hugely successful first season in the Premier League after joining from Getafe in a deal worth around £15m last summer.

Zinchenko has enjoyed huge success at City, winning the Premier League and Carabao Cup four times apiece. He has also lifted one FA Cup and played in the 2021 Champions League final.

He moved to Manchester City from Russian club Ufa in the summer of 2016 and has made a total of 128 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League club.

By leaving he's following Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho out the door in one of the most significant summer shake-ups in recent history at the Etihad, with the likes of Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Kalvin Phillips coming in.
