Chelsea loanee Bakayoko stopped and searched at gunpoint in the centre of Milan

Tiemoue Bakayoko, who helped AC Milan win the Serie A while on loan from Chelsea, was faced with a distressing situation when police officers decided to frisk the midfielder at gun point in what was ultimately a case of mistaken identity.

The incident was captured by Sport Italia journalist, Tancredi Palmeri, with the video capturing a policeman pushing the footballer up against a police car and forcing him to empty his pockets.

Two other police offers then trained their guns on Bakayoko's car where another passenger was sitting.

The situation ultimately deescalated when it became apparent that the police had the wrong person. The officers eventually let Bakayoko leave after a gentle pat on the back.

"Shocking footage of Milan's Bakayoko in Milan's downtown held at gunpoint by police cause taken for someone else," Palmeri said on Twitter.

"Check when one of cop goes telling to the colleague searching him that it's not the suspect but a Milan player, and the cop saying "WHO?!?"

Despite being signed to Chelsea, Bakayoko has spent the past few seasons on loan, with his second stint at Milan yielding the Scudetto last season.
