Real Madrid have been 'pleasantly surprised' by Eden Hazard - who has returned to pre-season training in 'perfect condition'.
Hazard infamously turned up to pre-season training 'five kilograms over weight' as his form in Madrid spiralled. However, Hazard is ready to put his tough days in Spain behind him and recapture some Chelsea magic after putting in work during the off-season.
According to Marca, the £150million star is now in tip-top condition, and he could be involved in Carlo Ancelotti's plans going forward. Hazard, who was once considered one of the finest players on the planet, has had a bit-part role at Los Blancos.
The report comes after Ancelotti confirmed Hazard could play False 9 for Real: "I can't talk about the signings, but I'm already saying that everything is over. We're not going to sign anyone. We're fine like this.
"We have many options for that position. Benzema is number 1 but we have to understand that it will be a strange season, different, with the World Cup in between and we have to see different options.
"My idea is to try to see Eden in that position. Given the quality that Eden has and his qualities, it could be good for us to test him there as. It's a similar case to Asensio."
Eden Hazard could be played as a false nine next season
Hazard, who had been criticised for putting on weight in the past, said: "I'm not going to hide it, but when I'm on vacation, I'm on vacation.
"I had put on five kilos, I'm the type to put on quickly and lose so quickly if I'm careful."
