Antonio Conte has been pushing to sign the Frenchman and Lenglet has now agreed personal terms, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs have been in search of a new centre-back all summer having seen moves for Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar rebuffed.
Tottenham and Barcelona are still discussing the final details of the loan transfer but the move is set to be announced soon.
Gerard Romero reports that Spurs will not pay his entire salary, but will cover around £115,000 of his £200,000-per-week wages.
And the switch will be welcomed by Lenglet after he spent the majority of the last campaign on Barca's bench.
The former Sevilla defender started just seven games in 2021-22 but is set for a first-team role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Lenglet will likely join Eric Dier and Christian Romero in central defence.
But Spurs could have a different look out wide with new signing Ivan Perisic possibly joined by Djed Spence.
Lenglet is set to arrive as Spurs' fifth summer signing following the additions of Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.
The Everton forward became the latest arrival after his £60m switch was confirmed on Friday.
Villarreal full-back Pervis Estupinan is also on Tottenham's radar and could arrive for £13m.
