Mohamed Salah is one of the world's most valuable players
The summer transfer window has not been open for long, but already we have seen some eye-catching moves for big money.
As we are often reminded, the Premier League is the biggest, best and richest league in the world. We can therefore expect the Big Six clubs to be amongst those throwing their weight around in the transfer market this summer.
Manchester City have already stolen a march on their rivals by pulling off one of the coups of the summer by signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for £51million. Haaland’s release clause was well publicised and made him a rare bargain in a world where transfer fees are continuing to rise and rise.
The value City got by signing the Norwegian goal machine is highlighted by his valuation from Transfermarkt, who consider Haaland to be worth £135m. He leads the line in the website’s Most Valuable XI alongside another young star, Kylian Mbappe, who could have moved club himself this off-season, but chose to stay put at Paris Saint-Germain.
By keeping Real Madrid at bay, PSG have protected an asset valued at £144m, making him the world’s most valuable player. Despite having two other world-renowned stars in Lionel Messi and Neymar, Mbappe is PSG’s only player in the XI.
Unsurprisingly, the Premier League accounts for six of the players, with Liverpool and Manchester City leading the way. Jurgen Klopp ’s side have Trent Alexander-Arnold (valued at £72m) and Mohamed Salah (£81m), while City have Haaland, Ruben Dias (£67m) and Phil Foden (£81m) in their ranks. West Ham have the Premier League’s other highly-rated and valued player in the form of Declan Rice, who is worth £150m according to David Moyes , but is valued at £72m by Transfermarkt.

Champions League winners Real Madrid have two stars in the XI: Thibaut Courtois (£54m), who was the hero in Paris, and Vinicius Jr (£90m), who has begun to establish himself as one of the most pre-eminent young players in the world over the past year.
European giants Juventus and Bayern Munich account for the final two players, Matthijs de Ligt (£63m) and Alphonso Davies (£63m), who are both young defenders who have been linked with high-profile transfers in recent years. Here is the full XI.
