Barca's partners give the go-ahead to Laporta's two economic levers
Joan Laporta and Barcelona FC's Board of Directors received a breath of fresh air from the Assembly of delegates who approved the two proposals that were presented to them.
The partners loosely authorized the sale of 49% of BLM and the transfer of 25% of LaLiga's television rights for a maximum of 25 years. The Board will get down to work now to find the best offers, which will report, in the words of Laporta, a minimum of $600 million.
A refusal on the part of the partners would have been a very hard blow for the current presidents, who needed an influx of money to balance the budget for this season and be able to go to the transfer market to incorporate players.
Laporta offered the best version of himself when it came to selling his proposals and convincing the partner. From the outset, he wanted to make it very clear that at no time did it cross his mind to ask them for money. "We are not going to ask the partners for money because you do not deserve it, you are not responsible for the mismanagement of resources made," said the president.
Laporta encrypted in those $600 million the minimum income that the club will obtain for these two levers. A fundamental money for the club in its current situation.
