Tottenham Hotspur are 'very close' to signing Richarlison from Everton in a shock £50million transfer according to reports emerging today.

The Brazilian forward helped Everton survive relegation in emphatic fashion last season, scoring late on against Crystal Palace to win the match 3-2. But it is understood the 25-year-old is eager to leave Goodison Park this summer after four seasons with the Toffees.

Richarlison was claimed earlier this week to be eyeing a potential move to Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid. But respected journalist and transfer specialist Bruno Andrade has now reported he is on the verge of making a switch to North London outfit Spurs.

Andrade wrote for UOL: "Richarlison is very close to leaving Everton for Tottenham. The talks between the two English clubs are well underway, in a deal worth approximately 60 million euros (£51million).

"Willing to change the air in this European summer football market, the 25-year-old striker is already in the process of negotiating a contract with Spurs.

"A recent Manchester United target , the Brazilian has been in England football since 2017. Before representing the Toffees, where he arrived in 2018, the former Fluminense and America-MG player represented Watford for two seasons."

Andrade also confirmed on Twitter that Richarlison has already discussed a contract with Tottenham ahead of a big-money deal for the man who has netted 14 times in 36 appearances for his national team. He could become Antonio Conte's third signing of the summer, after Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic, should the transfer go ahead.

That would mean Everton potentially losing one of their best players, with Richarlison having netted 53 goals in 152 appearances for the side. Yet the transfer could be a necessary measure to alleviate some of the Merseyside club's financial burden after reportedly recording losses of £372million over the past three years.
