Pop star Shakira had announced over the weekend that she has split from Barcelona defender Gerard Pique after 11 years together but will reportedly stay friends
Shakira and Gerard Pique were spotted together watching their son play baseball despite splitting as a couple.
The Colombian pop star announced on Saturday that the couple had split after 11 years together in a statement via her publicist after reports their relationship had become strained. Reports in the Spanish press last week also speculated that Barcelona defender Pique had been unfaithful, although those currently remain unconfirmed.
Despite not being pictured together, they were both present to watch son Milan, 8, play for a Catalan-based under 10s team in an international baseball tournament in the Czech Republic over the weekend.
El Periodico report that despite splitting, the pair are trying to remain friends and spent the weekend together, with Shakira seen smiling happily when chatting with a group of children and Pique pictured walking with his head down at the tournament in images obtained by The Sun.
Shakira is said to not miss any of Milan's baseball matches, work permitting. Her and Pique also have a daughter named Sasha, 7, although they have never married.
They are understood to have met on the set of the music video for Shakira's song 'Waka Waka', which was the official theme song for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Pique went on to win the tournament with Spain.
The 'Hips Don't Lie' singer's publicist announced the couple's split in a statement on Saturday which read: "We regret to confirm that we are parting ways.
"For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding."

Just weeks before their split was announced, Pique had discussed why they were not married in an interview with former Manchester United team-mate Gary Neville.
The 35-year-old told The Overlap: "No, I'm not married. It's her mentality. "I like it how we are right now. We have two kids, nine and seven right now. We work good as a couple."
When asked by Neville if he had asked and been rejected, Pique continued: "No no no I would tell you, I don't have no problem. But it's not the case."
