Chelsea buoyed as PSG withdraw from race for Barcelona winger Dembele

Chelsea have been given a boost in the race to sign Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer.

The winger is out of contract with the Catalan giants, and is set to choose his next team.

According to Sport, Paris Saint-Germain have withdrawn from the race to sign Dembele.

There is still a possibility that the 25-year-old will renew with Barca, as he resolved his fitness issues and featured heavily in the second half of last season.

Dembele made 32 appearances in all competitions, with the majority coming under coach Xavi Hernandez after he took over from Ronald Koeman.

The winger will hope to move to a club where he can play regular first team football ahead of the World Cup in the winter.
