Sadio Mane’s true transfer market value is considerably higher than the sum Bayern Munich are offering Liverpool.
The 30-year-old is currently being pursued by Bayern with his future at Anfield in doubt. Mane has just 12 months remaining on his contract, which has prompted the Bundesliga champions to offer him a lucrative three-year contract worth £17million-per-year.
Bayern are only offering Liverpool around £25.5million for the Senegalese star, which The Athletic claim falls short of the £42.4million they want for their Premier League and Champions League-winning forward. But that still pales in comparison to what Mane’s current value is believed to be.
German-based website Transfermarkt estimates Mane’s market value to be a whopping £72million.
That sum would make him the third most expensive Liverpool sale of all time after Philippe Coutinho (£121.5million) and Luis Suarez (£73.55million). Yet it seems the FA Cup winners would be lucky to even receive a bid close to their £42million asking price in today’s transfer market.

The AFCON 2022 winner turns 31 next season and Liverpool run the risk of losing him for free next year. It would come as a major blow to lose one of their best players without cashing in and reinvesting the money elsewhere, especially given Mohamed Salah could also leave for nothing next season.
Mane and his agent are demanding around €24million per year (£20million) to stay at Anfield, according to BILD. However, Liverpool – who do not want to break their wage structure – have refused those demands.
Munich is supposedly Mane’s favoured destination, with reports claiming he feels he could become the main man under Julian Nagelsman. He reportedly feels he would be just one of many stars at Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, who are also interested and could muster up a greater transfer fee than Bayern.
