West Ham star Jarrod Bowen has broken his silence over rumours that the new England winger is engaged to ex-Love Islander Dani Dyer.

Speaking after his Three Lions call-up, Bowen addressed the rumours that he had proposed to Dyer in front of the media. He said: "No, people thought I was engaged, but I don’t know where that came from."

Rumours had sparked that Dyer had answered 'yes' to Bowen after she posted a cryptic Instagram post earlier this month. Dyer posted a snap of her and Bowen on her story with the words "you and me forever" alongside a heart emoji.

Bowen has received his first call up to Gareth Southgate's side after an exceptional campaign with West Ham.

The winger was key to David Moyes' side's run into the latter stages of the Europa League - and he even notched against Lyon. And Dyer took to Instagram after he received the call: "Beyond proud of you.

"You deserve this so much, love you more every single day. Bring it on @England."

Bowen revealed he'd been with Dyer when he'd picked up the phone.

He told England's social media: "I was at home with my mum and my girlfriend and I saw the call and felt a bit sick for a few hours but no I was obviously buzzing and I'm buzzing to be here now.

"Dec's buzzing. He messaged me and we spoke last night and I said to him 'were you nervous for your first trip'.

"He said 'yeah but don't worry it's a great group of lads' and to be fair everyone has been welcoming since I've been here so I'm just buzzing to get started."
