‘If it’s Mo Salah he gives it’ – Anthony Gordon hits out on Twitter as Lampard slams referee over Everton penalty denial

EVERTON winger Anthony Gordan has hit out on Twitter after he was denied a penalty in Sunday's Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
The Toffees headed to Anfield inside the bottom three after relegation rivals Burnley beat Wolves.

Gordan was never far from the action at Anfield and was one of Everton's standout players, causing problems for the right side of the Liverpool defence.
The 21-year-old's lightning pace caught Liverpool off guard on a number of occasions.
He had been booked in the first-half for diving while trying to win a penalty and also got Trent Alexander-Arnold in the book when he raced away down the left.
With the game tied at 0-0 after the restart, Gordon found himself bearing down on Alisson's goal.
Reds defender Joel Matip did his best to win the ball, but ultimately bundled Gordon over inside the penalty area.
Much to Everton's amazement, the referee failed to award a penalty-kick, which could've handed the Toffees vital momentum.
Liverpool went on to win the game 2-0 thanks to goals by Andy Robertson and Divock Origi.
Gordon responded to the incident with two hand on head emojis.
And Everton boss Frank Lampard believes if the same happened to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in front of the Kop, ref Stuart Atwell would've pointed to the spot.
Lampard moaned: "It was a penalty, you don't get them at Anfield.
"If that was Mohamed Salah at the Kop end, I think [the referee] gives that. It was a foul on Anthony."
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested the referee's decision may have been swayed by Gordon's booking for simulation in the first half, which would've been "in referee's heads."
Gordon shifted the ball past Reds midfielder Naby Keita and threw himself to the ground, picking up a yellow card.
Carragher said on Gordon and the incident: "He's got to be careful Anthony Gordon.
"He's a local player, I know some of his friends and family.
"He's a great player, one of the best players on the pitch today and he caused Liverpool plenty of problems.
"He's got to be careful though. That wasn't the first time [he dived] in the first half, and it definitely will be in referee's heads.
"Maybe he hasn't got what he deserved because of incidents in three or four other games. That is a stonewall penalty."
Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell says the penalty would've "been the break Everton needed."
A goal for the Toffees would've "put a little bit of doubt in Liverpool's mind."
He said: "That's the break that Everton needed, in order to cement what they're doing out there, for however long they kept it going.
"They take the lead then maybe you put a little bit of doubt in Liverpool's mind.
"That's the break that Everton needed today and it didn't come.
"I think the referee bottled it a little bit, if I'm honest with you."
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has taken a different view on the penalty incident, claiming Gordon was lucky not to shown a second yellow.
Klopp told BBC Sport: "It was clearly no penalty.
"He's really good but he's lucky not to get a second yellow. The first was not a penalty and the second wasn't."
