Drunk rival fan invades Bayern Munich's pitch after their Champions League humiliation

A drunken Koln fan ran onto the Allianz Arena pitch following Bayern's defeat to Villarreal last night

An absolutely hammered FC Koln fan somehow managed to sneak his way onto the Allianz Arena pitch last night to 'celebrate' Bayern Munich crashing out of the Champions League at the hands of Villarreal.

The bizarre incident happened an hour or so after the game with the supporter clambering down from the stands and hobbling onto the grass to drunkenly serenade the empty stadium. He then tumbled over, gestured to the sky in celebration, and stumbled off into the night, apparently singing songs about Koln striker Anthony Modeste. What a hero.

Luckily for him the whole thing was caught on camera, because chances are he won't remember a thing.

FC Koln's official Twitter account soon got involved, commenting: "We thought we'd seen that celebration before," alongside a photo of former Koln star Jhon Cordoba celebrating a goal in similar fashion.

"For the sake of his head and his ankle, we hope he doesn't have work this morning. [Please don't pitch invade]," they added.

Aside from the drunken pitch invasion, it truly was a night to remember in the Champions League. Despite heading into the second leg with a 1-0 lead, most expected Villarreal to keel over at the home of the German champions, but Unai Emery's side more than held their own, earning themselves a 1-1 draw on the night to seal a place in the semi-finals.

Robert Lewandowski put Bayern ahead in the second half to level the tie but Samuel Chukwueze's 88th-minute strike settled things, confirming one of the most shocking results in Champions League knockout history.

The Spaniards, who haven't made it past the quarter-final stage since 2006, will now face the winners of Liverpool and Benfica for a place in the final. Jurgen Klopp's Reds are odds on favourites to progress, taking a 3-1 aggregate lead into the second leg at Anfield this evening.
