Brazil boss Tite is in talks to take on a role at Arsenal after the Qatar World Cup and has a previous working relationship with Gunners chief Edu.

Succeeding Dunga as Selecao manager in 2016, Tite, 60, is set to take charge of his second, and final, World Cup campaign. The veteran coach will step down from his role after the tournament in the Middle East.

And while it had previously been thought that he would retire after leaving his post as Brazil boss, according to Globo journalist Eric Faria, Tite could be destined for the Emirates. Current Techincal Director Edu has a good working relationship with him from their time together at Corinthians and at the national side.

The sensational report, via ESPN, claims that Edu wants Tite as the club next's manager and talks are already underway. Faris is reported to have said: "There is already a negotiation of Tite to work in English football. To work at Arsenal. He worked with Edu Gaspar. There is the intention, negotiations have started."

Any new appointment at Arsenal would come as a massive shock. After a rough start to the season and a 5-0 hammering to Manchester City, Mikel Arteta has overseen a meteoric rise at the Gunners with the club on the fringes of a first Champions League campaign since the 2016/17 season.

As well as embedding young talent with the likes of Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka firmly engrained in the Arsenal set-up, the Gunners now look rock-solid in at the back. Only the top three have better defensive records than Arteta's side.

Arsenal are three points clear of north London rivals Tottenham in fifth, with a game in hand, and have won six of their last seven Premier League matches. Arteta will be looking to make it seven from eight when they travel to Crystal Palace after the international break, managed by fellow Gunners legend Patrick Viera.
