Sevilla set ticket price for West Ham game at 9,999 euros!
Priority for home fans

On Thursday, Sevilla host West Ham United in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie, but any Hammers fans hoping to make the trip might have been shocked by ticket prices reaching almost 10,000 euros.
With the cost of flights soaring to almost 1,000 euros between London and Seville this week and hotels and hostels all hiking their prices, West Ham supporters without a ticket may find themselves priced out of the stadium as well and wondering if this is the most expensive city in the world.
The truth is that Sevilla want to deter away fans who don't have tickets in the official away section (where West Ham have been given 3,000 tickets) and have blocked off certain sections of the ground as for club members only.
Sevilla fans will find prices starting at 35 euros, with members have access to discounts of up to 50 per cent. The Andalusian club want an intimidating atmosphere to give them an edge in the first leg and want to fill the ground with their own fans.
Reason for expensive tickets
That's also why tickets have been set at 9,999 euros for non-members in the two sections of the ground on either side of where the away fans will be, as they look to ensure that any West Ham fans hoping to sneak into the home end at least won't be able to do so in large numbers next to their own fans and will instead be spread around the stadium, thus avoiding an enlarged away section.
The game on Thursday kicks off at 18:45 CET (17:45 GMT) and the return leg in London will be a week later at 21:00 CET (20:00 GMT). Sevilla remain second in LaLiga Santander, but have lost ground on Real Madrid in recent weeks, despite being unbeaten in the league since losing against Los Blancos back in November.
