This Friday morning saw Paris Saint-Germain return to training, but Sergio Ramos wasn't able to work with the rest of his teammates, despite arriving early for the session. The past few weeks have been tough for the centre-back, as he works to recovery from yet another injury.

Ramos won't be able to feature in PSG's game against Nice on Saturday, which will be his seventh game out in a row, while it's clear that he won't start away at Real Madrid on Wednesday. However, there is still a chance that he could come off the bench when back at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Whether he recovers in time or not, Ramos could still travel to the Spanish capital as he can still contribute to the group with his experience in decisive Champions League knockout ties and with his knowledge of Real Madrid.

"He's not currently part of the team, but it's clear that a player like Sergio can bring experience for this kind of Champions League game, while he was Real Madrid captain and played there for 17 years, so he can also give good advice to his teammates," Mauricio Pochettino said on the matter.

"It would be good for him to be there, whether or not he can play.

"It's the same with other players who might be injured or suspended.

"This will be a moment to all be together and to all contribute in whatever way possible. The finest details could be key in achieving a positive result."

What will Sergio Ramos' return to the Bernabeu be like?
It seems, then, that Ramos will be at the Bernabeu one way or another. It will be curious to see how he is received by the Real Madrid fans.

He didn't have the chance to enjoy the farewell he'd have liked and the fans will likely cheer Ramos in the way he deserves, even on such an important European night.

From Ramos' point of view, he still wants his PSG adventure to be a success and is working hard to be available for action on Wednesday. He'd love to finally return to the Bernabeu pitch, which he couldn't even play on during his final year and a half at the Spanish club.
