Former Charlton Athletic and West Ham United midfielder Diego Poyet looks unrecognisable four years on from his retirement from professional football aged just 23
Gus Poyet's son has shown off his hench body transformation on social media since quitting professional football in 2018.
Diego Poyet ended his playing career aged just 23 when he left Cypriot side Pafos in the summer of 2018 and has gone through a massive body transformation since.
Fans of Charlton Athletic and West Ham United would struggle to recognise him now given the contrast between his current muscular physique and his time as a skinny midfielder in London.
Poyet regularly posts workout pictures and videos from the gym to his Instagram account and does not miss an opportunity to exhibit his bulging biceps.

In one post from last year, he can be seen tensing his arms as he poses with the Chilean Super Cup trophy, which he won as assistant manager of Universidad Catolica.
Just five years prior, when he left West Ham, he was a skinny and diminutive central midfielder.
Poyet's passion for the gym since retiring is evident on his Instagram page, with a dedicated set of stories to accompany his regular posts.

As a player, he featured for both England and Uruguay's national teams at youth level after being born in Spain and came through the academy at Charlton.
He moved to West Ham aged 19 in 2014 but was loaned out three times before leaving after two years, going on to play in Argentina and Cyprus.

Having retired in 2018 after just 87 senior career appearances, Poyet has since moved into coaching and worked as assistant to his dad, Gus, during his time managing Catolica.
The pair took over as manager and assistant for the Greek national team in February, with the aim of guiding them to their first major tournament since 2014.
They will take charge of their first matches later this month with friendlies against Romania and Montenegro.
