Portuguese coach doesn't miss being in the Champions League
Jose Mourinho in a Roma press conference
Roma's aim for the season was to make a return to the Champions League and, although that looks unlikely at this stage, Jose Mourinho has made clear that he doesn't miss being in the main continental competition, even going as far to state he didn't enjoy watching PSG vs Real Madrid.
Roma qualified for the Conference League round of 16 courtesy of winning their group, however Mourinho isn't necessarily yearning for a return to the Champions League.
"I've been in more than 150 Champions League games and I'm privileged for that," Mourinho declared in his pre-match press conference.
"I can't cry now that I'm playing in the Europa or Conference League. I don't feel nostalgic.
"I haven't seen that many big Champions League games either. I didn't like PSG vs Real Madrid, but Inter vs Liverpool was a good match."
The more discerning eye will point to Mourinho's track record with press-conference humour, suggesting that he enjoyed watching Roma's Serie A rivals lose to Liverpool.
