The former Chelsea hitman shared a heartwarming photo of himself cradling his bundle of joy with three love hearts emblazoned across the image.

Leeds fans were quick to congratulate the 28-year-old after seeing the news of his child's arrival.

One said: "Congratulations to you and Michaela on the birth of your baby @Patrick_Bamford. Hope they are both ok."

Another said: "@Patrick_Bamford congratulations on the birth of your baby."

SunSport exclusively revealed in December that Bamford and model partner Ireland were expecting.

A pal of the couple revealed the England international was over the moon at the prospect of becoming a dad.

They said: "Patrick is in heaven. It's better news than scoring a dozen hat-tricks."

Bamford and Ireland have yet to share additional photos or the name of their baby.

But an excited Ireland did post her delight at the prospect of becoming a mum in her last Instagram post.

Alongside pictures of herself, Bamford and her bump, she wrote: "Made from love. Not long now, Baby B!"

Bamford is set to spend plenty of time with Ireland and their bundle of joy as he's currently out with a foot injury.

But his prolonged stint on the sidelines is a major headache for Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa.

The Argentine said: "He has not played for 15 games now. How can I not worry?

"Bamford has not improved. He continues to have a problem at the bottom of his foot and he hasn't started jogging, so his situation continues the same way.

"Bamford has an injury where you cannot predict when he will return because it depends on the pain going away so that he can start jogging.

"Since he got the injury, the pain has not gone away.

"Of course, he is going through the necessary treatment for the injury he has."
