Nicolas Tagliafico could be Barcelona's next defensive reinforcement as the Argentine is pushing for an Ajax exit this month, with the January transfer window entering its final few days.
Barcelona are without an alternative for Jordi Alba at left-back and he has had a mixed season so far this term, leading the club to identify Tagliafico as someone they'd like to bring in.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has said that the 29-year-old is doing all he can to make the move happen, even asking Ajax to let him leave on an initial loan deal.
"Nicolas Tagliafico's pushing to join Barcelona next week. Ajax are still asking for permanent deal - while FCB only think of loan move," tweeted Romano.
"Tagliafico only wants to join Barça as soon as possible - he hopes Ajax will let him go on loan with this big chance for his career."
It is understood that Ajax would be open to selling Tagliafico to Barcelona, but the Catalans are currently only offering a loan deal with an option to buy.
Tagliafico has shone during his time in the Netherlands and is desperate to make the step up to Barcelona this January.
