The Copa del Rey clash between Real Betis and Sevilla has been suspended after Joan Jordan was hit in the head by an object thrown from the crowd.
The incident occurred directly after Nabil Fekir had drawn Betis level on the night with a goal directly from a corner, as what appeared to be a plastic stick left Jordan on the ground in pain.
The Sevilla midfielder was able to get back to his feet after receiving medical attention, whilst Julen Lopetegui and his assistants were furious at the incident.
As a result, the match was stopped and all of the players left the field, and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) later announced that the match had been suspended before releasing a statement.
"The last-16 Copa del Rey fixture between Real Betis and Sevilla has been suspended," the RFEF announced on Twitter.
"The RFEF condemns all acts of violence on the pitch."
The date and time for the game's resumption has not yet been announced.
