Liverpool are refusing to meet Mohamed Salah's new contract demands.
The Telegraph says Liverpool's owners FSG are not prepared to meet Salah's salary demands, leaving the door open for an Anfield exit.
Egypt international Salah is in the final 18 months of his current contract, worth more than £200,000 a week, and is yet to sign an extension at Liverpool.
Salah has been locked in talks with Liverpool for some time with the Reds keen to keep hold of the Premier League's top marksman.
And the stand-off could continue for some time with Liverpool currently unprepared to meet Salah's salary demands, whatever they may be.
Jurgen Klopp has provided little by way of an explanation for what is going on behind the scenes at Anfield.
Liverpool have not publically challenged Salah over his demands nor responded directly to his comments that his salary request is reasonable.
But they are yet to meet them, suggesting Salah's time at Anfield may be coming to an end.
