Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is currently in Cameroon as part of the Gabon squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, but he is yet to take to the pitch after two group games
Forgotten Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was left out of Gabon's squad to face Ghana on Friday night in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Gabon FA revealed that Aubameyang was struggling with a "heart problem", having also played no part in their opening game against Libya due to testing positive for Covid.
A statement from the Gabon Football Federation said: "According to the CAF medical commission, the players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Axel Meye and Mario Lemina barely out of the Covid cannot take part in this match. The examinations would show heart problems. CAF did not want to take any risks."
Striker Meye, who represents Moroccan side Ittihad Tanger, and Nice midfielder Lemina both also tested positive for Covid.

Aubameyang has not played since December 6 after arriving back late from a trip to France.
The 32-year-old has also been stripped of the captaincy and could be sold this month with Mikel Arteta freezing him out completely.
But it looks as thought he might not get to play at AFCON after making the trip to Cameroon to represent his country.
Aubameyang tested positive for Covid on his arrival in Cameroon, having been spotted partying with team-mates in Dubai just days earlier.
Gabon have one final group game against Morocco on Tuesday.
