Could Conte really leave Tottenham in January?

There are fears among the Tottenham Hotspur squad that head coach Antonio Conte could leave the club very soon if he is not backed by the board in the January transfer window.
Spurs are yet to lose under Conte in the Premier League but they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Chelsea in midweek.
The Italian has reportedly given his list of targets to the man who makes the deals, Daniel Levy, but there is a possibility that he may get only one or even none of those players this month.
And the longer this goes on, the more other clubs could afford to fleece Spurs for more money as the desperation grows.
Two-man Team
If you look at Spurs' squad on face value, you can see why Conte wants to make wholesale changes to it.
There is only really Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son who you could consider an elite player and even that is debateable this season.
The rest of the squad though is painfully average and it is something of a miracle that they are as close to the top four as they are.

Desperate Times
It is a really worrying time for Tottenham fans, despite their good form in the Premier League.
Conte is going to be crucial to the future planning of the club but he can only be that if he is still in charge, which is becoming increasingly unlikely if Levy doesn't reach into his pocket and spend money on his targets.
This month could already be the most important of Conte's Spurs career and if it goes wrong, it could be his last.
