AC Milan are engaged in a battle for the Scudetto this term, and it is likely to come down to themselves and their local rivals, Inter, however the Rossoneri are looking to give their chances a boost by signing Manchester Citydefender Nathan Ake in January.
Simon Kjaer has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee ligament injury, so the Italian club are looking to replace him.
Manchester City have an abundance of players in their senior squad and as such Ake has made just 14 appearances this term, which could give AC Milan encouragement in their pursuit of the Dutch defender.
In a report published by The Sun, Milan's interest in Ake is a fairly recent development, however persuading Manchester City to part with the defender could be another matter.
Pep Guardiola is keen to keep his squad in tact as they look to achieve success in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
Possible COVID-19 outbreaks are making clubs all the more reticent to allow fringe players to leave in January as it can never be anticipated when a situation may arise when they are needed.
