Messi travelled back to Argentina for the Christmas period and enjoyed a party night in a luxury location, where he was caught in camera having a dance and planting a kiss on his partner

Footage of Messi enjoying the festive period alongside his long-term partner has been shared on social media, after disappearing back to Argentina for celebrations.

Messi is seen singing along to the music before pulling Antonela in for a quick kiss.

Earlier in the day, the pair had posed with each other in front of a huge Christmas tree. Messi was dressed casually in shorts and a t-shirt, while Antonela wowed her Instagram followers in a short red dress.

Messi is celebrating yet another sterling year on the pitch, despite accusations that his form has dropped off since leaving Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

He did, however, finally win major silverware with Argentina, when he lifted the Copa America.

It was the catalyst to him being voted the winner of the Ballon d'Or for the record-extending seventh time.

Messi is free to spend time in his homeland due to the French league's international break. PSG are not in action again now until January 3, where they will take on minnows Vannes in the French Cup round of 32.

He will likely not take part in that game and instead only return for the Ligue 1 game against Lyon on January 9.

Messi initially flew back to Argentina alongside fellow PSG stars Angel Di Maria and Mauro Icardi on Wednesday, but it is unclear when he will return to his new home in France.
