A body has been found in the search for Kyle Walker's 'best mate' and popular football agent Dominic Yarwood.

The 32-year-old was reported missing on Wednesday night after last being seen at around 7:15pm on Woodland Grange in Worsley, Manchester.

Police have confirmed that a body has been found and, while formal identification has yet to take place, the family of Yarwood have been informed of the discovery.

At present, there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Yarwood's disappearance.

Walker and former West Ham United striker Carlton Cole were among the footballers and celebrities to call for help in locating Yarwood.

A statement posted to Twitter by Greater Manchester Police reads: "A body's sadly been found in Worsley in the search for Dominic Yarwood.

"Formal identification hasn't taken place but we've informed Dominic's family as we believe it to be him.

"There's no suspicious circumstance and we're supporting his family at this awful time."

Walker had called for anyone who had seen Yarwood or knew where he was to contact police urgently in an Instagram story on Thursday morning.

Although Walker was not represented by Yarwood, who worked for a football management agency, the pair were believed to be close friends.

The pair are understood to have been close, with a number of pictures together on Yarwood's Instagram, as well as a congratulatory post from when Walker joined Manchester City in 2017.

Yarwood wrote: "There's nothing better than seeing your friends and family do well in life.

"Words can't describe how proud I am of Kyle Walker after he became one of the world's most expensive defenders signing for Manchester City.

"Just a normal Sheffield lad who's done it the hard way, youth team football - League One - Championship - Premier League - International Honours with no corners cut, extreme highs and lows too.

"He has worked so hard to get to where he is now, an exciting new chapter for him and his family with this next step in his career most will solely see an 'Athlete' 'Celebrity' or 'Idol' they don't experience what goes on after that white line has been crossed once 90 minutes are over.

"I'm privileged enough to have experienced that with someone I can call one of my best friends, we've been through a lot brother and I've got no doubt there's much more to come."
