Sergio Aguero's heart problem came as a bit of a scare to Barcelona and the wider football world when he had to be taken off against Alaves on October 30.
It was originally said that the 33-year-old striker would spend at least three months on the sidelines and now, having spent a month out since, his future in football is now in doubt.
"There is a ceremony on Wednesday wherein Aguero will announce that he's retiring from football," Emilio Perez de Rosas told Radio MARCA's 'A Diario' programme.
"It seems that it was decided a few weeks ago, as the journalist Gerard Romero had said. But Rafa Yuste denied it and said there were still a couple of months left before doctors would decide.
"But, according to my information, Barcelona have prepared his farewell."
Aguero arrived at the Camp Nou over the summer and immediately suffered a calf problem.
He played four times in LaLiga Santander, scoring once in El Clasico against Real Madrid. Added to one Champions League appearance, Aguero played 165 minutes for the club.
