Lautaro Martinez reveals Messi calls over potential Barcelona move

Lautaro Martinez has admitted that his Argentina teammate Lionel Messi tried to convince him to depart Inter and join Barcelona when the latter was the Blaugrana captain.
The Catalan club had been keen on signing the Argentine forward for a few successive transfer windows, but Lautaro stressed that he wanted to stay at the Nerazzurri.
"He asked me about my situation at Inter," Lautaro told Sportmediaset.
"But I always told him that I was staying."
Lautaro, who joined Inter back in 2018, went on to express his hope that he will manage to renew his deal at the club soon.
"I am talking with the club to reach an agreement," added Lautaro.
It was a good decision [to join Inter] and I'm happy to have stayed in this city that my family and I like.
"We are working hard and I try to help my teammates, sometimes I score and sometimes I don't, but I feel good."
