Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits it's 'not good news' that Ralf Rangnick will be managing in England. Manchester United are set to appoint Rangnick as their new interim manager until the end of the campaign after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday morning.

The 63-year-old is set to take over at Old Trafford in the coming days after agreeing a six-month deal but will not be in charge for the Red Devils' clash with Chelsea on Sunday as he waits for his work permit.

United still need to agree terms with Lokomotiv Moscow, where Rangnick currently works as the head of sports and development, before he officially takes the helm in Manchester.

“It's a bit tricky, we usually don't talk until they are confirmed," Klopp said ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Southampton.

“It's obviously a really experienced manager. Unfortunately a good coach is coming to England and Man Utd. He famously built two clubs from nowhere. United will be organised, which is not good news.

“The first concern is always a coach and that is what he is.

“He is highly regarded with the coaches - where he has been he has done incredible jobs. He started as a young man at Stuttgart and then made his way up.

“I faced him when I was a young coach - he might have forgot that, but he called me a lot at Mainz.”

Rangnick is an incredibly experienced manager and has previously taken charge of a whole host of clubs, including Stuttgart, Schalke and Hoffenheim.

He was hugely influential during nearly a decade at RB Leipzig, where he was one of the main catalysts for the club's success.

The veteran initially joined the club as sporting director in 2012, before later taking over as manager, and he pioneered the team's rise from tier five of German football to the Champions League.

Rangnick led Schalke to the German Cup in 2011 and remarkably guided the team to the semi-finals of the Champions League against the odds in the same season.

His side were ultimately defeated by Manchester United over two legs before the Red Devils lost in the final to Barcelona.

Rangnick has been credited with innovating the pressing style of football currently utilised by the likes of Klopp 20 years ago.

And Klopp will be now have to attempt to get the better of the tactical genius when Rangnick begins his role at United.

The German bosses will go head-to-head for the first time as Premier League managers in March when Liverpool travel to Old Trafford.
