Dani Alves passed his medical examination this Monday, November 15, so his official presentation as a new Barcelona player will take place on Wednesday at the Camp Nou at 13:00 GMT in an event that will be open to the public.

Ahead of the presentation, the Brazilian right-back urged the fans to stand by the club in this tough moment and to support them with their presence at the stadium.

"I'm still in shock because I've been trying to return for a long time," Alves told Barca TV.

"It's a privilege to return to work with people who know me, who know how I am. To try to rescue Barcelona, which we all love very much.

"It is evident that we are in a process [of rebuilding], but we have to speed it up because we are at Barcelona and here there is not much room to make mistakes.

"When it is said that dreams come true, it is true. You have to take it seriously because they come true. I have been working too long hoping to return here. I want to help Barcelona to be the greatest team in the world, as it always was.

"It was inevitable that I would return to Barcelona. The surprise is to do it as a player. It is a city that fascinates me and one that I love madly. I want to continue winning and if it is at Barcelona, all the better.

"Barcelona are also their fans. They can't stop coming to support us. Now is the time we need them [most]. When I came in 2008 there was also a situation like that and they helped us. It's time to show the Barcelona spirit that each one of us has inside us."

After passing his medical, Alves will train his new teammates for this first time following his return to Catalonia, with the session under new coach Xavi Hernandez set to take place at 17:00 GMT on Monday.
