Jese Rodriguez's girlfriend, Aurah Ruiz, has denied running over the former Real Madrid winger after an argument over the weekend.

Footage emerged of a man, later identified as Rodriguez, limping away from a supposed traffic accident.

The pair have had a rocky relationship, but they're back together and had been attending a concert in Gran Canaria, an island off the south coast of Spain.

Rodriguez currently turns out for Gran Canaria's local side Las Palmas in the Segunda Division, Spain's second tier.

However, the club were forced to deny their captain's involvement in the accident, and both Rodriguez and Ruiz have denied their involvement.

"I’ve not run anyone over. It’s a lie and very serious," Ruiz said, according to The Sun.

"I’m not going to allow people to say I’ve run my partner over.

"I know a lot of things have happened between us that we’re not proud of but we love each other and I never wanted to run him over.

"I know I lose my head sometimes but this!!! How am I going to do something to the father of my child!! Are we all mad!!"

Rodriguez, who has also turned out for PSG and Stoke City, posted on his Instagram page: "Good training session today. Respect me and stop publishing fake news."

The pair have had a rocky relationship, and Rodriguez even took Ruiz to court over harassment.

Ruiz was convicted, even though the pair rekindled their relationship in December 2020.

Ruiz was ordered to nine days of community service after reaching a settlement with Rodriguez.

The pair left court holding hands.

Rodriguez will be available for selection over the weekend for Las Palmas.

The second tier side take on their local rivals Tenerife in the Canary Islands derby.
