An odd incident involving Cristiano Ronaldo took place just before Manchester United's encounter against Young Boys in the Champions League.

The Portuguese star unleashed a thunderous strike, with the ball hitting a security guard who fell to the ground and had to be treated by medical staff.

Ronaldo reached out to ask about the lady's health before returning to the pitch to continue his warm-up ahead of his first Manchester United game in Europe since that 2009 final against Barcelona.

The former Real Madrid forward, who took pictures with several fans before the duel, netted Manchester United's opener at the Stade de Suisse.
