Ian Wright told his Match of the Day co-pundit Alan Shearer to “f*** off” in the green room - but ended up in hysterics.

The pair are back in the studio to analyse the biggest moments from the opening weekend of Premier League action.

And the pair are some of the most seasoned broadcasters in the BBC set-up, with more than 700 club career goals between them.

But footage has emerged of Shearer forcing an expletive out of his colleague’s mouth - but it is all in good spirit.

In the clip, the Premier League all-time top scorer films himself creeping up behind the Arsenal hero.

Wright can be seen preparing his notes for the first show of the new season, looking over them on the sofa.

Getting within six feet of his co-pundit, Shearer suddenly yells “come on” to scare the 57-year-old.

And it catches the Gunners legend completely by surprise, jumping on the sofa before falling backwards in laughter.

As Shearer is left in stitches, Wright turns around and simply says: “For f***s sake, Al.”

After a moment of shared laughter, the former forward decides to cheekily show his anger by telling the Newcastle icon to “f*** off”.

But all the 51-year-old can do is laugh as the pair enjoy a moment of banter together.

Shearer shared the video to his 615,000 followers, accompanying the video with: “Sorry @wrightyofficial I couldn’t resist!!!! Warning bad language.”

It marked a change in mood for Wright, who was caught with a miserable look as he watched Arsenal lose their opening game 2-0 to promoted side Brentford on Friday.

Sky Sports showed the 57-year-old sat in the stands while on duty with Premier League Productions, with the clock in stoppage time.

But he managed to see the funny side of the situation, sharing a ‘How it started, how it’s going’ meme of himself at the Brentford Community Stadium.
