James Rodriguez wants Messi to join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo

Whilst James Rodriguez was once tipped to be the player to break the Lionel Messi-Cristiano Ronaldo duopoly of the Ballon d'Or award, the Colombian has made a surprising revelation that he hopes the Argentine joins forces with his Portuguese rival at Juventus.

James' own future is still unclear after a move to AC Milan failed to materialise, leaving the former Monaco star at Everton without Carlo Ancelotti, although there is still time left in the window for that to change.

"Messi should go to Juventus and play with Cristiano Ronaldo, it would be a bomb," James explained as he streamed on Twitch.

"It's the dream of many fans to see those two beats play together.

"Messi made 30 goals and 30 assists for Barcelona, per year, at least, and now Barcelona will have to look for other players to do that, one who scores 10 and assists 10, another who scores five and assists five, the issue is finding them."

James also gave his own opinion on football following a summer where a number of players have left clubs that have been seen as their homes.

"Football has changed a lot, Messi leaving Barcelona confirms that," James continued.

"Who would have imagined that he would leave Barcelona or that Sergio Ramos would leave Real Madrid?

"The LaLiga Clasicos are going to be different, before the cameras were for Cristiano and Messi, now people will still watch but it won't be the same.

"If Messi went to PSG they would play alone there, they could already give them all the titles, In England I don't think anyone can pay him, only Manchester City."
