And dropping by on his holidays after playing for England at Euro 2020 was Liverpool captain Henderson.

The 31-year-old posed with his old pal in the Mallorcan capital of Palma for a picture posted on Sturridge's Instagram.

He captioned the snap: "Mallorca vibes with bro. Banter was flying as per 😂.

"I genuinely miss these vibes right here. Nothing but love and respect for the skipper. Bro for life, truss."

Henderson added on his Instagram page: "Always a pleasure. Great to catch up with the main man!"

Sturridge uploaded a clip of the midfielder training in the gym with American musician Chris Brown playing on the speakers, something he described as 'standard procedure'.

Henderson is not expected back at Liverpool pre-season training until next week following his run with England to the Euros final.

Meanwhile, Sturridge is working on his return to football having last played for Turkish club Trabzonspor in February 2020.

A move to MLS was rumoured before he began the trial with Segunda Division side Mallorca.

The 26-capped England international scored 67 goals in over six years at Liverpool, all of which he spent playing alongside Henderson.

The pair won the 2019 Champions League together, with Sturridge watching the final victory over Tottenham from the bench before being released by the club.
