Sergio Ramos and Neymar finally joining forces

Sergio Ramos is close to signing for Paris Saint-Germain where he will have the opportunity to join forces with a player he has hailed in the past... Neymar.

The two men admire and haven't hesitated to praise each other on various occasions, despite Neymar's Barcelona past, with Ramos labelling the Brazil international as one of the finest worldwide.

"Neymar is a top player," Ramos is noted as saying. "One of the top three in the world."

The PSG superstar has faced Ramos several times on the pitch and admitted back in 2019 that the Spanish centre-back is one of the toughest opponents he has ever played against.

"Sergio Ramos is the best defender I have faced," said Neymar.

At PSG, Ramos will re-join forces with former teammates Keylor Navas and Angel di Maria and will play under one of the best coaches in Europe, Mauricio Pochettino.

Ramos' contract with Real Madrid ran until June 30, but the two parties failed to strike an agreement, with the veteran's brother and agent Rene travelling to Paris to seal the deal with Ligue 1 side.

Now, according to RMC Sport, the former Los Blancos captain has reached an agreement to put pen to paper on a two-year deal with PSG.
