Manchester City are on the verge of snapping up Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for 'around £100million', reports say. The playmaker is currently on international duty with England at Euro 2020. And he looks set to become Pep Guardiola's first signing of the summer transfer window.

Manchester City won the Premier League title last term, with Guardiola's side cruising to the prize and finishing way ahead of rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

But, after losing the Champions League final to Thomas Tuchel's side, they're now keen to bolster their ranks.

And talkSPORT have claimed City are on the verge of signing Grealish 'for around £100million' as they look to defend their title and conquer Europe next time out.

The playmaker flourished for Dean Smith's side last term, scoring six goals and registering 10 assists in the Premier League.

And with City seeing Raheem Sterling experience a difficult campaign, they're now going after Grealish with everything they've got.

Such a high fee would make Grealish the costliest signing in Premier League history.

Paul Pogba currently holds that mantle, costing Manchester United a massive £89million upon arriving from Juventus back in the summer transfer window of 2016.

And the deal is now expected to go ahead, barring any late twists or turns.

Grealish isn't the only player on City's wishlist, either, with Guardiola also looking to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Kane is eager to leave north London for a new challenge elsewhere, having grown disillusioned with Spurs' failure to win the biggest and best prizes on offer.

Any deal won't come cheap, however.

Tottenham want £150million for their prized asset and, presently, City aren't prepared to go that high.

Spurs have made it clear it'll take a record fee to let Kane go and they believe the England international is crucial to their plans going forward.

City have also been linked with Pau Torres.

But whether they challenge United for the signing of the Spain international, who is also at Euro 2020, remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Grealish has opened up on playing for England at Euro 2020, insisting he just wants to enjoy himself.

“There is nothing to say I can’t perform at this level,” Grealish said.

“You all know how much confidence I have in myself to be able to perform and I felt I did that with my assist. I felt I could have still created a few more chances but we got the win and that was the main thing.

“I felt fine out there fitness-wise. It was a good team performance from the boys against a team that hadn’t lost in their two games in the tournament.

“I don’t think it’s pressure at all, I love playing football and that is what I am paid and what I was born to do.

“I just love playing football every day of my life and when I go out there, there is no pressure on me whatsoever. I just enjoy myself like I always do. I felt in the second half I still could have got on the ball a little bit more and tried to dictate the game a bit more from an England point of view.”
