Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has been grieving after his ex-wife of 25 years passed away aged 63.
Luisa Gibellini, who was a childhood sweetheart of the Italian before their split in 2008, died on Monday following a battle with a long illness.
It saw the 61-year-old fly to his home country on Sunday evening following his team’s Premier League defeat to Manchester City to be with her in the hours before her death.
Ancelotti had two children with his sports-obsessed ex-wife in Davide, who works as the Everton boss’ assistant, and daughter Katia.
Enjoying football, softball and tennis, Gibellini also qualified as a helicopter pilot in 1999 - regularly flying her ex-husband home from matches while in charge at Parma.

The pair met at school and tied the knot in 1983 before splitting 25 years later while the manager was working with AC Milan.
Ancelotti has been married to Canadian businesswoman Mariann Barrena McClay since 2014, having got married for a second time in Vancouver.
The Italian has guided Everton to a 10th-placed finish in his first full Premier League campaign at Goodison Park, spending the early rounds at the top of the table.

He arrived in December 2019 with 20 trophies won during his managerial career at Reggiana, Parma, Juventus, Milan, Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Napoli.
It has been a tough year for Ancelotti, with the Toffees boss being forced to ramp up security at his £2m Merseyside house following a burglary in February.
The raid took place at 6:30pm on a Friday evening, with Ancelotti rushing back from training after being made aware of the break in.
The Sun report that as well as a guard being placed on watch outside, police were also looking into another recent robbery that took place nearby.
They quote a source in security as saying: “Carlo’s never had any visible guards before.
"He’s clearly ramped things up. I’d also expect him to have some close protection for his family while out and about.
"As for the raid, the thieves knew what they wanted and how to get it. It’s probable they’d watched the house or were acting on information.”
