Chelsea and Manchester City fans were left furious as speculation emerged that the Champions League final looks set to be announced for Porto, Portugal, with just 6,000 fans each
Chelsea and Manchester City fans have been left furious at 6,000 tickets getting scrapped for each team due to the Champions League taking place in Porto.
The Premier League sides were scheduled to be fighting it out for Europe's biggest honour at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul, Turkey, on May 29.
But the UK Government's decision to put the country on the Covid red travel list saw speculation emerge of it being moved to Wembley Stadium in London.
Speculation has emerged, though, of a meeting between UEFA, the FA and political officials failing to agree on the admission of 2,000 sponsors, guests and football-federation members amid quarantine regulations in the UK.
Chelsea and Man City fans have been left fuming that the ticket allocation for the Champions League final in Porto could be halved to 6,000 each
And it seems that the European football organisation will announce Porto's Estadio Do Dragao in Portual as the venue on Thursday.
Chelsea and City were hoping that 12,000 fans would be allowed at the game, which had been the maximum entry in Istanbul.
But this is set to be cut in half, with The Times reporting that 4,500 to 6,000 each would be allocated.

And fans quickly vented their rage on Twitter at the news on spectator numbers.
"Disgraceful so less as well," one Blues supporter said.
Another commented: "Only 6,000 - its even worse for f***s sake!"
While a third sarcastically added: "Football is for the fans apparently!"
And a fourth wrote: "UEFA and caring are two words that don‘t go together. It's all about the money, money, money."

Chelsea will be contending their first Champions League final for nine years, having beaten Bayern Munich in 2012.
While Pep Guardiola's side are into the finale of the competition for the first time in their history.
It will also be a first for Porto's stadium, with the Estadio do Dragao never hosting the event before.
The final was previously set to take place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul, Turkey
The Champions League final has taken place three times in Portugal's capital Lisbon, hosting Celtic's 1967 win over Inter Milan, Real Madrid's 2014 comeback against Atletico Madrid and last year's win for Bayern over PSG.
