Messi closer to staying at Barcelona than joining PSG

Lionel Messi's future has been one of the major worries for Barcelona fans all season, but it currently seems as if the Argentine is more likely to stay than leave.
The two key factors tipping Messi towards staying are the Copa del Rey win and Joan Laporta's plans for the future.
That's according to French paper L'Equipe, who reported on Saturday that despite having a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain and not from Barcelona, Messi has been encouraged by the recent cup win and he believes in the new generation of talent coming through at the Camp Nou.
Those youngsters, including Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo and Oscar Mingueza, along with Joan Laporta's ambitious plans for next season are convincing Messi that he is still in the right place.
The No.10 knows Laporta is determined to make a major addition to the playing squad this summer, with Erling Haaland and Neymar names being discussed.
The president met with the player and his father a few days ago to reaffirm his desire to keep the Argentina international at Barcelona.
Messi, however, will not be making any firm decision until the end of the season, especially as there's still plenty to play for as the Blaugrana look to pull off an unlikely double.
