Not long after Barcelona had lifted the Copa del Rey, the matter of Leo Messi's future became the main subject of debate.
The Blaugrana captain raised the cup into the Seville air but everyone involved with the club are worried that it might've been his last, with his contract set to expire in the summer.
President Joan Laporta said after the game that he is confident Messi will stay.
"I'm convinced that he wants to stay and we'll do everything in our power so that he stay," Laporta said.
"Today, we saw that he's surrounded by a great team. They played some very good football."
Ronald Koeman echoed that sentiment.
"I don't know what will happen [with his future]," the Dutch coach said.
"Hopefully this wasn't his last [final].
"Everyone wants him to stay."
Jordi Alba, who enjoys a telepathic relationship with Messi on the field, couldn't speak on his behalf.
"I have said it many times, Messi will be the one who decides and the one who will say it when he has to say it," Alba stated.
"He is committed to this club, which is the club of his life."
