A lucky punter turned £4.29 into a staggering £56,000 by cashing out at the perfect time during Inter Milan’s win over Atalanta on Monday night.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men already leading 1-0 at half-time, the online Ladbrokes customer bet in play that Manchester United would go on to win 2-0 against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon at a price of 12/1, which was one of his three correct score predictions in the eight-fold.

He also backed Chelsea to pick up a 2-0 win over Everton on Monday night at 13/2 and was repaid when Thomas Tuchel’s men did exactly that.

A lucky punter has turned £4.29 into a staggering £56,000 with Ladbrokes, first by tipping Man Utd to win 2-0 away at Man City on Sunday

The punter, who wishes to remain anonymous, then nailed Arminia Bielefeld and Union Berlin’s Bundesliga clash, correctly tipping it to finish goalless at 13/2.

He was then bang on the money with West Ham earning a 2-0 win over Leeds, before the bet was saved by a 91st-minute winner from Athletic Bilbao.

After backing Bilbao to beat Granada, the eight-fold appeared to be in ruins when Jorge Molina levelled proceedings for Granada with 12 minutes remaining.

But with only a few minutes of stoppage time remaining, Alex Berenguer popped up with a last-gasp winner for Bilbao to keep it alive in dramatic fashion.

The madness wasn’t over, nevertheless, as Sampdoria and Cagliari’s rollercoaster 2-2 draw threatened to bring it crashing to a halt.

After betting on the draw at 11/4, the punter saw Bartosz Bereszynski equalise for Sampdoria with 12 minutes remaining, before Manolo Gabbiadini edged the hosts in front two minutes later.

Fortunately, in the 96th minute of the game Radja Nainggolan snatched a point for Cagliari to keep the bet in with a chance.

Following that four-goal thriller, the punter decided enough was enough during Inter Milan’s clash with Atalanta on Monday night, having tipped the Serie A leaders to win 2-0.

With Antonio Conte’s men 1-0 ahead, he produced an inspired cash-out for £56,532.52 - as there were in fact no more goals in the game.

With the potential overall returns at an eye-watering £750,109.29, that proved a masterstroke from the lucky customer.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "In-play bets, correct scores, last-minute goals and the savviest cash out we've seen all season, this bet really did have it all."
