Angelino and Leipzig clash over absence: No muscle issue, I'm fit

Angelino was at the centre of controversy on Saturday after declaring himself fit for a match against Borussia Monchengladbach when RB Leipzig hadn't.

The Spanish international wasn't included in Julian Nagelsmann's matchday squad for the Bundesliga fixture because of injury.

"Angelino misses out with a minor muscle issue," Leipzig's English twitter account said.

"No muscle issue, I'm fit," Angelino surprisingly replied.

After the game, which had seen Leipzig come from two goals down to win 3-2 late on, Nagelsmann was asked about the incident.

"It wasn't the smartest thing," Nagelsmann asid.

"Of course, we'll discuss it with him.

"I also have to say that I really like Angelino for such things because he always wants to play.

"He gets annoyed when he has to miss a game or two.

"He has a few light muscle problems.

"He'll think about it twice. There are smarter solutions."
