Cristiano Ronaldo has stepped in to pay for the cancer treatment of a seven-year-old boy in Portugal.
Tomas was diagnosed with life-threatening neuroblastoma in 2019 and underwent treatment to improve his health.
In October 2020, Tomas suffered a relapse of the illness. This time, his parents couldn't afford the necessary medical treatment and made a plea for donations.
Having heard about Tomas's situation, Ronaldo has offered to pay the necessary amount of money to pay for the life-saving treatment.
The story was revealed by Ronaldo's sister-in-law, Ivana, who is the sister of his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.
Ivana posted a message on Instagram thanking Cristiano and Georgina for their generosity, with added information on Tomas.
"Tomas is now on his way to Barcelona to undergo tests and start his cancer treatment in the Hospital Vall d'Hebron," the message said.
"Thanks Georgina and Cristiano for your help, generosity and big hearts. Infinite thanks for helping Tomas access the treatment."
