Warring WAGs Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy have one week to settle their dispute – and the initial social media accusation at the centre of the row may have to be deleted as part of any peace deal.

Coleen accused Rebekah's account of being behind newspaper stories that were leaked from her private Instagram page.

Her investigation earned Wayne Rooney's wife the nickname WAgatha Christie as she set about finding out who was behind the fake reports.

Rebekah, 38, is suing for libel over the Twitter post, which dates back to October 2019.

The Dancing On Ice star – wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy – vehemently denies any involvement.

They have one week from today to avoid the case going to trial at the High Court and any settlement may rest on Coleen deleting her infamous "It's......Rebekah Vardy's account" post from two years ago.

A source told The Sun: "The accusation is still there for the world to see.

"If they are to shake hands and walk away then Coleen will need to agree to remove it – and that it will never be repeated."

Meanwhile, The Mirror report that deleting the post is something that is predicted to be a part of any settlement offer that is made.

Coleen said she posted a series of fake stories and blocked all her followers apart from Rebekah's account.

She then sprung a "gotcha" post online when the hoax stories made their way into the papers.

Rebekah released a statement in the wake of the post to deny she was the person behind the leak.

She wrote: "I wish you had called me if you thought this.

"I never speak to anyone about you as various journalists who have asked me to over the years can vouch for.

"I'm not being funny but I don't need the money, what would I gain from selling stories on you?...

"I liked you a lot Coleen & I'm so upset that you have chosen to do this."

Last year, Rebekah hinted that a "resolution" could soon be reached.

Chatting with Hello!, she said: "The new year could potentially see a resolution between us. I’m pretty sure the public are sick of reading about it."
