Tottenham have been tipped to seal a surprise move to bring Christian Eriksen back to the club.

Tottenham have been backed to seal a stunning deal to bring Christian Eriksen back to the club – a year after he chose to leave for Inter Milan. Eriksen’s move to the San Siro hasn’t gone to plan, and reports suggest he wants out.

Eriksen chose to leave Tottenham last January, refusing to sign a new contract.

His deal at the time was due to expire in six months, meaning he could have left for free.

But instead, he opted to join Inter there and then for a price of just £17million.

His move didn’t quite go to plan, however, as he failed to adapt to life in Serie A.

His first half-season at the club was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, and he failed to find his feet with his new club.

In his first 17 matches in Serie A, he found the net just once and registered only two assists.

He managed to bag two goals and an assist in the Europa League, but regardless he’s been unable to break into the side this season.

Eriksen has started just three of seven Serie A games, and is reportedly unhappy in Italy.

Speaking while away on international duty, he conceded that he doesn’t know where he’ll be playing after the international break.

He said: “This isn't what I dreamed of. All players want to play as much as possible, but the coach decides who gets to go on the pitch.

"I am concentrating on my football, then when the transfer window opens we will see if something will happen or not.”

And former Premier League defender Danny Mills believes Tottenham could move to re-sign him if the money is right.

Speaking to Football Insider, he explained that because Spurs chief Daniel Levy knows

"If the deal is right,” Mills said when asked if Tottenham could re-sign him.

"I’m pretty sure if Daniel Levy is getting a bargain, having made some money on him already, they’ll certainly look at it.

"He’s a player of quality, that knows the club inside out so there’s every chance.

"It would certainly be foolish to rule it out immediately.”
