'No agreement’: Agent comments on reported £23m Arsenal target

Arsenal may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Dominik Szoboszlai, with his agent telling Index that nothing has been agreed yet with RB Leipzig.
Red Bull doesn’t just give you wings, it also gives a nouveau-riche German giant unfettered access to some of the finest young footballers in Europe.
Leipzig have already raided their Salzburg-based sister club for Sadio Mane, Hwang Hee-Chan, Naby Keita and more since they burst onto the Bundesliga scene in 2016.
And BILD reported on Tuesday that Julian Nagelsmann’s side are expected to repeat the trick with Szoboszlai next year.
That felt like a major body blow to an Arsenal side who have lost three of their last four Premier League games, failing to score from open play in over six hours.
A Gunners side deprived of Mesut Ozil’s mercurial talents are crying out for creativity and set-piece specialist Szoboszlai, who has five goals and nine assists in 13 matches this season, would certainly give Mikel Arteta some much-needed cutting edge.
Arsenal fans will be thrilled to learn that ‘Szoboszlai to Leipzig’ is far from a done deal just yet.
“Dominik Szoboszlai has no agreement with Leipzig or any other club, except, of course, his current club, Red Bull Salzburg,” agent Matyas Esterhazy explained.
Football London reports that Arsenal could soon make a move for a player who, back in 2019, described the Gunners’ interest as a ‘huge honour’.
What’s more, with a £23 million release clause in his contract, Szoboszlai will come far cheaper than the likes of Houssem Aouar.
